Program
Arrival at the farm
You will be welcomed to the farm and shown the history of our location. You will also discover how people lived and worked here back in 1708, the year in which our early ancestors came to this house, as well as how it works today. Indeed, we have been fortunate enough to have preserved the original rooms of the last family that lived here 40 years ago!
Tour of our ‘orto saggio’
The children will cross the bridge that separates the lawn from the gardens and will reach our ‘orto saggio’, becoming farmers. Here we will begin the labour, allowing them to dig between the rows of vegetables, prepare the land and plant seasonal vegetables, and therefore to experience a farmer’s work. Each child will then mark their own produce with their name, and will return to the farm to check its growth and to reap the benefits of the produce that they have planted!
They will learn about the land, growing times of the plants and required rest periods. They will find the plants, the real stars of our work, and will transfer them into the field in groups. Through a series of specially-designed educational games, the children will discover the different properties of the vegetables and the benefits of organic farming. At the end of this experience, the children will have discovered the secrets of our work and the importance of making environmentally sustainable choices.
To conclude the visit, we will spend some time in our park, playing games in the open air.
